I really don't understand the point of this gaining the name of the permanent it bounces.

I know. I guess I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around it. I understand that names are the theme, I just have yet to see a card that made me say "oh yeah, that's why. I get it." It's probably just me being thick.

Might be more simply written as
