For Challenge # 107. I'm probably just going to end up stealing this for New Mirrodin, actually...
Yeah, I kept designing dual lands with restrictions too. They are very similar. (You could even say of ETB lands, "don't spend this mana the turn the land came into play" although you wouldn't.)
Added to New Mirrodin because... well... Locuses.
this feels a fair bit worse than cloudpost, but when you're designing locus 9 through 12 you have to be careful.
does make glimmerpost better, so maybe this is sitting somewhere in the middle? either way i think it's a cool take on locuses so well done
Is this meant to say "two untapped Locuses you control", or not? It does technically work without that, but it's a bit odd. You can "steal" mana from your opponent's Loci whenever you have priority; and two players with one of these each are in a constant game of chicken about who's going to get the mana (and is it going to be at a useful time).
Heh, yes, good eye Alex. "You control" it is. Edited
You also bring up the problem of plural, which I admit, I crossed my fingers and hoped that 'locus' had a Greek root, leading to the word 'locuses', and not a Latin root, leading to the word 'loci'. I just looked it up and, unfortunately, it's got a Latin root. But I think I'm stuck with my incorrect spelling, because I'm quite sure people would otherwise ask "What's a loci?"
