I'm torn. On the one hand this is an interesting twist, but on the other hand it feels like it moves a little too far away from the original to make sense.

I actually think I'd rather have this replace the {w}{u} trap slot over Bizarre Wormhole or Freeze Ray

This could be the {w}{u} trap easily. I do like the flash twist though. Maybe a {u} and a {b} flash trigger at uncommon.

This is one of those things were I don't want to do just one. It's kind of an "all or nothing" scenario where I think we should either do a whole bunch of these or none, and I don't know if there's enough design space for a whole bunch.

If anything this feels like a "second set innovation".

I say no to sorcery traps (unless we do end up with a second set) feels like we are trying to fix something that isn't broken.
