Maybe too good? Maybe permanent exile or else get reduced portion of casting cost back...

Mm, yeah, maybe make this a 2/2 for {1} {u} {b} that reverts for {u} {b} . Then it's like a Grinning Ignus that flies in exchange for being gold, which seems reasonable.

Wording suggestion:

> Revert {u} {b} (Exile this creature from the battlefield: Add to your mana pool. Return this card to your hand at the beginning of the next end step.)

Reminder text gets automatically italicised, by the way, so adding stars only serves to un-italicise it, which probably isn't what you want.
