Trying something different here. Stirring Treefolk counts as a forest so any card that searches for a Forest card can get it but cards that search for basic lands/lands can't. Does it work?
Hmm. This is a very interesting idea, but it's got real problems in the rules. Basically, if this worked, the horrible hack that is the Tribal type wouldn't have been necessary.
Yeah tribal is kinda messy. I could always go with Creature - Forest Treefolk which should make it a legal target for anything that searches for a forest.
or make it a land with : This land becomes a 0/3 Treefolk creature with Defender until end of turn, it is still a land.
Though I prefer the first alternate option.
"As long as CARDNAME isn't on the battlefield, it's a Forest land in addition to its other types."
Have created alternate versions to find one that works (((Stirring Treefolk alt 1))), (((Stirring Wood))) & (((Stirring Wood ver 2)))
I think SadisticMystic's version is as good as you're going to get. I believe the rules don't like "Creature - Forest Treefolk" for the same reason they don't like "Enchantment - Treefolk Aura" (Lignify has to be "Tribal Enchantment - Treefolk Aura"). Of course, feel free to ignore this distinctly technical complication; people will understand what you mean, and it's your set :)
I am down to this with SadisticMystic's suggestion and this vrsion of (((Stirring Wood))).
