I was originally going to make this a functional reprint of Clone, except as an artifact creature. Then I realized that Phyrexian Metamorph was better in two ways.

Nice sensible variation on the Metamorph for the set. I'm always up for having more Sculpting Steels exist.

Alternatively, I suppose Clone probably costs {2} {u} nowadays, so you could have just shaved a colorless. But the counters thingy has panache. I can dig it.
