Same situation as (((Blue Power Uncommon))). Choices in black include Pestilence, Infest, Smallpox or Incremental Blight. Anyone got a favorite?
I vote for Smallpox. Infest, like Hinder, is too proactive; Incremental Blight uses -1/-1 counters, but you already have other counters; and Pestilence may be too powerful.
Yeah, unfortunately, Infest and Hinder sound like something you do to someone. I don't know why I missed Incremental Blight's problem. That's not on the table anymore.
I like Smallpox. It's a got a lot of things right. It's also pretty cheap land destruction, even if it hits you as well. For
and LD parity, I'm cool, though.
Pestilence is pretty good (and, now that I think about it, probably too mana intensive for my set). But I wonder, dude, did you think that Pyrohemia was too powerful in Timespiral?
I may be showing my (lack of) age here, but I wasn't playing during Time Spiral. I didn't start until Rise of the Eldrazi.
Duuuuuude. We started playing at the same time.
My vote is for Smallpox too.
Two votes for Smallpox means this is a Smallpox. I am also an old man. I can never find another person who started playing the game with an Ice Age Starter.
Smallpox is great, flavor-wise, but tricky to employ, since I wasn't planning on killing 1/3 of the Mirrans due to disease. While playing with the flavor in a not spot-on way, it occurred to me that the Mirrans had healers, but no doctors... and that we needed another black Legendary creature. Odd to keep finding late-comers to the cast.
