Are 1/1 flyers for black with upside too strong?

previous: {b}. Flying // {3}{g}, Sacrifice ~: Destroy target creature with flying.

Bumped cost up 1. Now a triggered ability rather than activated to allow the opponent to play around it.

playtest results: Making the antiflyer ability an optional triggered ability rather than an activated ability (or a mandatory triggered ability) was fantastic. If you're facing this, you can play around it, waiting for Zerg to tap out before you throw your bombs out. If you're Zerg, it's also nice since you have to think of ways to suicide your little flyer. fun.

Zerg creature type flavor update! Normal zerg are minions, Zerg which breed or are toxic or explode are carriers, change shape are Shapeshifters

Another strong card. Comparable cards would be Fetid Imp ("meh"), Deadly Recluse ("pretty good / not bad"), and Baleful Strix ("disgustingly powerful").

Just chiming it to say that this is technically the art of an existing Magic card. Specifically, Plague Stinger. That might not matter to you, but if it does, and you didn't know, then now you do.

Looking through the card art in this set, I also noticed that (((Spine Crawler))) was art from Blitz Hellion. Just in case it mattered.

If there are multiple cards using existing art, that's probably intentional. You should credit the artists, though

Baleful Strix is powerful because of the cantrip. As a one-for-one, this is fine, both theoretically and in testing.

All card arts are credited in the full-art versions of the cards. MTG reprints are: Scourge, Photon Cannon, this version of Vortex (new one has different art), Changeling, Spawn Broodling, thsi version of Evolution Chamber, Forest-6.

3G -> 4G. Should be secondary to the flying/deathtouch combo, if at all
