I appear to be getting very silly as of late. Since I figured, with all the "Salvage
" in this set, there's a fair chance of having a clean graveyard. Gorilla Titan always held promise, but was in the wrong set... and frankly, that's a hard thing to do with any consistency. If there's going to be a set where you can build around Gorilla Titan, it's going to be this one.
Glornica has no Gorillas, so I made a functional reprint. Since it's mono-green, I made him a Legendary uncommon, and I tied him, flavor wise to Death-Hood Cobra. I couldn't help myself, though. I just had to give this guy groan worth flavor text.
I thought of alternatively doing this:
"Hexproof
At the beginning of Martaan's upkeep, if you control no card named Syzl and no cards in your graveyard, put a 4/4 green Legendary Snake creature token with deathtouch onto the battlfield.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have one or more cards in your graveyard, sacrifice creatures named Syzl you control."
Since it seems to play into the sets themes better, and works with the card's flavor a touch better... but there's just too much text there. Unfortunate.
That is amusing/distressing flavour text indeed.
I live to amuse/distress. :)
