Permanently? That kind of thing is very annoying to track without a token or aura
You can still keep track of it even if the card does not explicitly say so; the marker you use to keep track of it is not itself a part of the game, though.
...I could make a Token that acts as a marker?
That works, although the marker is not (and does not have to be) a token. (The token you added to this set says "marker" and does not say "token", so it is OK)
Also, do you mean it is a Lizard in addition to or instead of its other creature types? This should be changed to be made clear.
