That type line is a bit crowded.

The creature-half seems a bit over-engineered. Unconditional reach and protection from Birds seems plenty - maybe leave the Bird creature type out of the design and have something like "If a creature with flying would deal damage to you or a permanent you control, prevent 1 of that damage."

That way you can save text on the instant-half as well.
