That seems terrible. I wouldn't pay WUBRG for this even if it only copied the land for me. Maybe 3G and give the fortified land "T: Create a copy of this land"

Changed it, in fact I went a bit further and made it cost just 3.

What I'm a little worried about is that, if one's got ways of untapping artifacts, this could get quickly out of hand, but maybe I'm over overrating the danger of that, idk

In general it's not a good idea to put tap abilities on attachable cards. Auras, Equipments, Fortifications etc.
