I think it's worth a try. Its a very old school design.
Some part of me wants to squash the possibility to just use this as a two mana source for death triggers, while another part really enjoys that idea.

The main design issue with this card is that it relies on support (direct damage, double strike etc.) to increase the power in time to matter for combat.
