land triggers are going to be hard to come by after you've already played 5, and untaps aren't exactly speedy either

this guy is going to take a good while to really deliver, a 5cmc 4/4 flyer is great but that's pretty much all it is

would be nice if the ability affected the game more immediately

yeah, if you've attacked with this guy enough times to get him to 6 counters, you've most likely already won. also edicts tend to be pretty mediocre in limited. This guy wouldn't be out of line at rare if he just had an edict on etb.
