I feel like there is a better wording for this. For a start you can probably make it only creatures dying that trigger it (not going to affect how it plays out all that much... who the fuck is naturalising your enchantments). 'whenever a cleric you control would die, you may exile it instead. If you do, destroy target creature'.
nah that's a bit off. i think it would be
"Whenever a creature you control dies, you may exile another creature card from your graveyard. If you do, destroy target creature."
although i like the idea you had of making it cleric only; lineage makes more sense flavorfully if it's about tribal allegiances
yep, that would work also.
nonland permanent -> creature
Wording clunkiness reduction while keeping current lineage wording. To be revisited when I go over lineage with all the other cards.
M8, can just use 'dies'
now THATS podracing
I recommend "Whenever a creature you control dies, you may exile a Human or Cleric card from your graveyard. If you do, destroy target creature an opponent controls." That's the standard template for triggers with optional costs. I spelled out the creature types since it's an ability word and you can just choose the appropriate ones on a card by card basis. I made it only destroy opponents' creatures so that it wouldn't keep triggering itself.
much cleaner. i was mistaking ability words for keyword actions and this template is much much better.
