@JackV I don't see the problem with. At least as long as these two things clearly belong in the same color (and I'm convinced they do).
It's nice to have a variant of Defeat, but maybe "toughness greater than 2" or "power greater than 2"? The trouble with "destroy target creature with toughness 2 or less" is it's really really close to "target creature gets -2/-2 UEOT".
Sure, but in what set? Ah, the first printed Tarkir set. It'd be clearer if you surround printed card names with [[[]]] so people get the hover images, like this:
Defeat
Blue ferocious enabler #1.
1B, Sorcery: Destroy target creature with power 2 or less.
Big black kill spell. A little boring, so I threw a Dragon bonus in there.
What's Defeat?
Small black kill spell. Mechanical mirror to Defeat.
Why does red need specific anti-flier answers as opposed to removal than is decent against pretty much anything, which it always has to begin with? Besides the fact you only have one other instant/sorcery mono-R removal so far (Spark Burst), that is. I mean, this could be Thunderbolt and still do mostly the same thing. Some variation of Vertigo (possibly hybrid ) is also an option.
It is meant to be a Fall of the Hammer type card. Sorry about that. :P Seeing how it is multicolored, I don't think 3 mana would make it too good, though.
The card is meant for an answer to fliers in limited. It's not supposed to be a Flame Slash; it's supposed to be a decent sideboard card in draft or sealed. I'll update the wording to make It work mechanically.
Won't the aura fall off immediately for being attached to an illegal object, since the creature won't have flying? I think the best bet it's just enchant creature, for mechanical and power reasons.
It seems off because flying hate is a green thing. Red doesn't need in any way a card that says "target creature loses flying". Plus this is probably worse than Flame Slash 90% of the times.
Earthbind but more so? Seems perfectly reasonable power level, anyway.
It deals damage! How much damage? I hope not equal to its power - that'd be too strong for 2 mana. (Fall of the Hammer is somewhat overpowered - see Tail Slash.)
I love it. Make it 3 mana and it's suitable to be a mythic.
