This is a break of the color pie.
I'd like to keep the keyword as is. It's just a keyworded version of Elite Arcanist's abilities except on the spell, not the creature. If feel that putting it on an aura would make the keyword itself redundant. And yes, this particular wedge is all about wizards who like casting instant and sorcery spells.
Mmm, yes, that would be simpler:
> Flash
,
: This creature deals 1 damage to target creature or player."
> Enchant creature
> Mastery - When ~ ETBs, it deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
> Enchanted creature has "
Unless the set has a big theme of triggering off casting instants or sorcery spells or similar. (Wow, a pump spell version of this would be ridiculous with Heroic.)
This actually looks rather close to Fire Whip, except that it costs 1 to get each activation (to offset the original cost being 1 less), and it has an ETB trigger for the extra damage instead of a sacrifice.
Any chance the Mastery cards get changed to Auras with an ability word?
Name is taken by Pyrokinesis.
Yikes. Okay. That's fair enough, and a more sensible design. Just very scary.
Sorry! That's an error; all the Zombies should have Necrosis
Looks fine to me. Only change I'd make is adding an apostrophe in "creature's" :) Nice card.
If you're going for this mechanic, you'll want to make sure there aren't any Leyline of the Void / Annihilating Fire effects in the set, because a 4/4 dealt damage by Annihilating Fire then trading with a 1/1 won't "die", but it can still be "sacrificed" even though the sacrifice action won't put it in the graveyard.
(I agree it's fine flavour-wise for large groups to count as being "martyred", though it feels a bit odd for a 6/6 to count as "martyred" when it trades with three 2/2s.)
Whoa, hang on, the set has Zombie tokens with necrosis, but Zombie tokens made by necrosis do not have necrosis?
If that's the case I'd really suggest the tokens-with-necrosis be somehow different to the tokens-from-necrosis, maybe 5/5s like the Zombie Giant token from Quest for the Gravelord.
It might be saner to avoid putting necrosis on tokens at all, though, because I can see people getting very confused about which of these 2/2 tokens in front of them have necrosis and which don't.
