Doh. I chose the colonists to be Nantuko and Rhox, two creature types I wanted to do more with, but only now realised those are actually races with creature type "rhino" and "insect".

But I want token making cards to say "a nantuko token" not "an insect token", because insect token sounds like it means a bug, not an intelligent being.

Can I convey it with art and flavour text (even though I probably won't actually use any)? Or anything else?

I want another mechanical theme that fits the future-wild-west theme or other aspects of the setting (see World details page).

Any suggestions?

Also soliciting any cool ideas for rares and mythics, or links to other wild-west magic cards. (I've already seen Daniel William's GDS 2 entries.)

Not sure how; but you seem to have "Showdown!" and "Orbital Weapon" mechanics listed twice.

Re: Your reply. Ah; that makes sense. ok.

I made two keywords with the same name but different codename so I could give them different reminder text. I wasn't sure that was right, but it seems to work.

Orbital Weapon needs "You can choose new targets" for spells that target, but not for ones that don't.

Showdown is still being fiddled with, but sometimes it's showdown with target player, or target creature's controller, or defending player, and sometimes it's showdown with all players. I don't think the final version should have all of those variants, but I'm not sure which ones will survive.

Yep, that's supported. I did the same in Clockwork Wings for deathtrap with different reminder text on creatures/other permanents. You probably want to make Offworld Reinforcements and Planetary Scan use the Untargeted version though :)

Well, it matters a lot less on rares without reminder text, but well spotted, thank you.

It was probably a mistake to make a second version with a suffix on the base name instead of "targeted" and "untargeted" because it gaurantees I'm going to keep forgetting, but I started with the first version because the rules still support changing targets even when there aren't any.

Edit: It even explains it on the mechanics page, I hadn't noticed. Thank you :)

I was glancing over this set again. I think it was better without the science fiction theme as pure western, even though I didn't like it at the time. I may one day try to make a western set (reminiscent of goblin artisan's frontier world) with Terrain, Sandwurms, and Showdown, but won't continue this one.
