  At this point it really wants to be a Crossbow Infantry with lifelink.

  Also, Wizards somewhat startled me with GDS2 by pointing out that rangestrike (the Crossbow Infantry ability) has moved out of common. Personally I think it's fine at common, so it's up to you whether you want to care about following Wizards' current policies or not.

  Yes, and it can go on permanents as well as instants and sorceries. I have tried to make it so either you don't gain card advantage (i.e. You discard a card or sac. something) or the cost is extremely high for the given effect like buyback.

  Oh, of course. Sorry. So it's like Retrace as on Flame Jab, but with any card instead of a land.

  You pay the ritual cost in addition to its other costs, not instead of like madness (i.e. To play Ghost Bear from your graveyard you would pay and discard a card).

  I'm really uncomfortable with this being straight white, as white has never had any kind of life loss effects. If you wanted to make it then it'd be fine. Otherwise it kind of sticks out like a knife stuck in a pie.
