I like this. Sort of like, whenever something dies under your care, you will feel their pain sort of thing.
Alternativey rather than dealing with specific numbers, you could up it's cost a little bit and say (which imo would be more interesting) Whenever a creature enchanted player controls dies, that player loses X life where X is that creature's CMC
if you were to take that, it might need to be a 4 drop
