Strictly better Serra Angel at common? It even has an additional relevant creature type. Seems a bit crazy.

{w} also doesn't generally get 4+ power creatures at this rarity. It's one of those principles made to make {g} and {w} differ from each other. {w} is quite weenie oriented in multiple ways.

Serra Angel is one of the most well-known french vanillas of the game and proves itself to be a decent uncommon - ever since she's an uncommon she's been one of the best for white, first-pickable straight B.

I was curious for this card in particular since I had been about to make a common Angel myself - for reference: Guardian Angel.

This makes sense. I remember hearing angels are at smallest 3/3s, and also at common this would likely be a 3/3 at most... So I guess i'll also make it a 5 drop for balance reasons? Or could it be 4 with extra white devotion?

would a 3/3 FLY VIGIL for {w}{w}{w}{w} be acceptable?

Well, 90% of the time you don't want such a color-intensive mana cost at common to begin with, but you are talking about +1 toughness over Aven Sentry, so if you use such a prohibitive cost it might work.

But basically you'd make a harder to pay cost than the one of Ghostly Sentinel even turn 5.

Yeah, maybe i'll just make a functional reprint of ghostly sentinel, i was trying to not copy your reference point exactly, but i try to avoid red flags.

Although flavorfully this card could definitely be a 4-devotion CMC, mechanically it's fruitless
