Hm. Treasonous Ogre was red, and fuelled occasional all-in bursts of mana. This isn't doing that. This... Basically, we have a nice compact way of writing "Activate this only once each turn". It's called
. And yes, it does have differences - most notably you can use it on your turn and on the opponent's turn, as we remember from Wall of Roots - but basically, this should just tap.
Another important differences is that it can attack and/or block (if that wasn't obvious). Heck, it can attack and then during combat give that
.
I mean, it's a cute card, but I don't know why you would want to print it. That's the thing for all random cards though: cards don't make that much "sense" without any context - especially the more peculiar ones.
Say, in an environment with convoke or lots of black activated abilities (instants too maybe?), this might make perfect sense. As a standalone card however, it's just a curiosity. So it just needs the right "problem" to shine.
This kind of happened as Kozilek's Translator btw.
