Bears resemblance to Burden of Greed.

Big life loss spells seems to be a thing in Black. Kind of like Burn but instead of Lightning Bolt you play stuff like Char. This seems like a bit of a weak hate card too; even if my opponent plays a gazillion enchantments, the fact that they probably have some instant speed chant effect available makes this card kind of useless in my eyes.

True. The card does only make sense within the context of this set. However, pushing it further makes it rather powerful if used outside this set. Idk if that's a really problem or not.
