I remember you've been suggesting sifting Specter's Wail to for some time now. This seems pretty strong considering it has the same CMC as Mind Rot does. Like Blightning strong which can't be right since hybrids should definitely be worse than "true" multicolored cards if not also worse than the mono colored ones.

Related: What do you think of the Discord of Melkor variation? IMO it feels even more since it's also kinda more along the lines of Burning Inquiry and Skullscorch... It think it might encourage "unfun" kind of gameplay though...

Yes, I was printing this at the lowest cost I could imagine to get reactions on the power level. If I get around to power level adjustments this might simply get +.

A CMC of 4 seems reasonable.

While I think Specter's Wail is an interesting swift, this might have another point that makes it less fitting for . Red certainly wouldn't get a Divination but Mind Rot is much like "reverse card advantage", no? Discord of Melkor evades this in most common scenarios since it's symmetrical.

Does this matter though? You could conceivable get more than one card off Act on Impulse and it's not like "discard two" at cmc of 4 is gonna always discard the maximum of two cards. 's rituals may help with that though (shifting Dark Ritual + Hymn to Tourach to , amirite? :D). I think I could let it pass, but from what I gather, MaRo has always been very hard on not getting any kind of CA generation.

To me, it doesn't feel like pure-red would want this; more than that pure red cannot have this. But CMC3 does feel too cheap. I guess give it a try, see whether it breaks stuff.
