Red instant speed Lure that can allow your other creatures to get into the red zone. As with many red cards, it is risky though as this deals damage after blockers are assigned but before combat damage. If you're not careful you can kill yourself or leave yourself very vulnerable with this card; but who ever said Red was Careful???

Reworded it from ...1 damage to the target creature's controller.... to....1 damage to you.... as playtesting saw this cast on opponent's attackers as potentially lethal burn (which isn't what it was intended to do). It is an homage to Blaze of Glory obviously.

Why isn't this a Sorcery? Being able to cast this as a combat trick, pre-declaration of blockers, doesn't seem worth the complexity points...

Tried it as a Sorcery and it was OK but, as an Instant it works much better, especially in multiplayer where you can use this on another player's attacking creature, sure you still take the damage but it can wreak havoc on an opponent's board position.

Fair enough answer... I wasn't considering multiplayer. I guess there is room for an instant speed lure, but I regret the fact that the simplest version of an instant speed lure hasn't been printed yet before a fancier version is.
