Probably needs to move to set 2: this set's green creatures are full, and it's already got a rare green policeman. This was inspired by one of the creations of my Random Magic Card Generator, as I try to include at least one card inspired by the Generator's output in each of my sets.

I like the mechanic, but a +1/+1 counter is definitely worth casting another Cancel. Perhaps two +1/+1 counters? a 3/3 and three +1/+1 counters?
