A more modern way of doing +1/-1 counters.

So if I Reinforce your Acolyte with Hunting Triad, I kill it? Odd interaction. Not a dealbreaker, though.

Yeah, I decided it's hopefully a plus if there's some unusual interactions, even though "extra vulnarabilities" are not usually interesting drawbacks. I did consider making it only these counters which acted differently, but obv that would be confusing.

And it's obviously nice if you have a way of moving the counters off this.

That also interacts with sacrifice oddly. What if instead it was "If ~ would be destroyed, instead remove all damage and put a +1/+1 counter on it"?

Oh, good point. Originally it was "return it to the battlefield", but that annoyingly needed to respecify the number of counters. Yeah, maybe "if this would be destroyed" is better.

Alternatively, it could just be a confusing pile of math. "~ gains -0/-2 for each +1/+1 counter on it." Admittedly, that reads kind of wrong...

I did genuinely consider that, but I decided to be merciful to people's understanding :)
