Sirius went through a number of iterations. One of them used +1/+1 counters, which of course wouldn't do because this set has a -1/-1 counter theme. After Innistrad came out, I changed Sirius to this design, somewhat reminiscent of Huntmaster of the Fells/Ravager of the Fells. This is one of only two cards in the set to be influenced by Innistrad.
