Whoa. So this is like Admonition Angel, but not dependent on drawing lands and four mana cheaper? Or does the Soul Gem not untap during your untap step?

This seems crazy cheap for all that it does.

If you consider {2}{w}{w} a fair cost to cast Soul Gem, then how can it make sense for something that gets you a Soul Gem plus a 2/1 creature (even ignoring the activated ability) to cost only {1}{w}?
