Whoa. So this is like Admonition Angel, but not dependent on drawing lands and four mana cheaper? Or does the Soul Gem not untap during your untap step?

If you consider {2} {w} {w} a fair cost to cast Soul Gem, then how can it make sense for something that gets you a Soul Gem plus a 2/1 creature (even ignoring the activated ability) to cost only {1} {w} ?
