Wizards have avoided this kind of effect, due to situations like:

  • Imagine this has a permanent +1/+1 effect, e.g. Leonin Scimitar.
  • You cast a random 4/4. Ferocious gives this +2/+2 to make it 4/4 as well.
  • Opponent kills the other 4/4.
  • Does this stay at 4/4, or shrink to 2/2?

I know the answer, but lots of people would be rather confused about it. I think it's better to avoid power changing on Ferocious static abilities.
