Part of the three word mythic cylce started with Evanesce. There are only so many plausible three word mythic combinations in Magic, and I knew "exile target permanent" was going to white, so I couldn't give white "Exile/Destory all creatures". Besides, Wrath of God has been a staple since Alpha, and any wrath variant probably shouldn't be printed at mythic, since multiple wraths are needed for the health of the game. That means Black gets Damnation... except it doesn't. Because Damnation has the 'can't be regenerated' rider.
That makes this an awkward mythic, since it's very close to being 'strictly worse' than a rare printed 5 years ago. (You could play this with your own regenerating creatures... I mean... you are playing black). Because of that, I orginally costed this card

because... well, why not? Personally, I think constructed could use a hard to cast 3 cost board wiper... it really bites into the aggro decks out there, but would only get used in the meta-game.
I got some grumbles from some players, though, so I'm sticking it at this cost. I'm sure I'll get grumbles from other players. I'd switch the card out, but... 3 words. This works... it will upset some people, but it works, and I think the cycle pays off.
Oh, also, the name is a tribute to and the reverse of Day of Judgment.
I agree this effect should be printed at

someday, and indeed certainly will be. But I also think it's pretty likely to be rare rather than mythic. I appreciate the constraints of your cycle though. I guess you could try to swing it as mythic because black wraths are so much rarer than white ones, especially efficiently-costed ones.

is a pretty cool alternative, though. If this has to be mythic (which it does for your cycle) I'd prefer

, but I can see how other players wouldn't like that.
How do you feel about

Instant speed? Would I be forcing something that doesn't need to be forced? Or would it help solve the problem?
There's a good chance I'll go back to BBB. Don't mind me as I vacillate between 3 less than perfect choices...
I could see the argument for that. Sorcery is more natural for a big gorilla effect like Wrath, but if you're wanting a bit of extra splash to justify mythicness while still being only 3 words then instant makes some sense.
