0/3 -> 0/2.

playtest results: reduced toughness from 3 to 2. The card has SO MUCH value already. Not only does he reduce the cost of your guys, he gives them pseudo haste with his second drop ability.

2B -> 1B

currently plays well, but design is inelegant. think this can have something to do with Swarm keyword?

Before:

{1}{b}
Flying
Zerg creature spells you cast cost {1} less to cast.
Tap another untapped creature you control: ~ gets +1/+0 until end of turn.

Streamlined, instead of hodgepodge of abilities. "Drop" ability moved to Nydus Worm

The motivation behind the Spawn ability really confuses me... and if it confuses me then it will no doubt confuse the less enfranchised.

Like you could easily still think that the already attacking tokens would deal their combat damage before being sacrificed - which I don't think is the case.

Just throwing this out there (not sure what are you looking for or what are your restrictions), but how about:

> Spawn/Rush N (When this creature attacks, create N 1/1 green Zerg creature tokens tapped and attacking. Sacrifice those tokens at the end of combat.)

?

It's a roundabout way of getting the output that I really want, but it's butt ugly. Maybe you can help?

What I essentially want to happen is to keep creating tokens until you have at least X. For instance, If Swarm 3 triggers while I have one token, I create two more. If Swarm 1 triggers while I have two tokens, nothing happens. What's the clearest wording for that?

"Swarm X (Create 1/1 green Zerg tokens until you have at least X)" ? - not very clear

(If you have less than X Zerg tokens, create 1/1 green Zerg tokens until you have X) ? - not very clear iuf they;ll all be created at the same time or not)

If you have less than X Zerg tokens, create 1/1 green Zerg creature tokens equal to the difference)? - confusing as well

To me the "equal to the difference" seems the most legit of those wordings.

What is the reason this couldn't just create a single token instead (not really mechanic at that point though maybe populate could also work)? While it's certainly mechanically controlled, I feel like you are in a sense also "putting a cap on the excitement" this mechanic can generate by not being able to go super wide.

I'd say just "create [N] 1/1 green Zerg tokens" without the restriction is fine. Though feels even stranger on the Overlord.

testing new spawn ability with sacrificial zerg

Mm, I like this take better. Though with the wording being so different for one vs multiple, I'd be inclined to create a separate Multiverse mechanic for the singular version, [Spawn1].

Yeah, this is a cleaner way to be self-limiting, while simultaneously encouraging an attacking stance for Zerg. I'm very happy with this design I'll just fix power levels in development since Zerg just got severely depowered.

Ooh that's nice. I didn't know multiverse can do that. Will change

Zerg creature type flavor update! Normal zerg are minions, Zerg which breed or are toxic or explode are carriers, change shape are Shapeshifters
