4 mana though? If you don't build around this it'll maybe draw 2. If you kinda build around it you might get 4 but that won't be for at least a few turns after playing this 'do nothing' enchantment. In a completely built around it deck you would eventually be able to draw 10 cards but that'd be so far down the line. At the very best you might be able to draw 1 card a turn. Putting this closer to Mentor of the Meek or Phyrexian Arena.

It's rough to put this at 4 mana because if this is your win con, what are you doing before this hits the field? Making random tokens to chump with?

I think the conversation is between 2 and 3 mana depending on how powerful 2 CMC ends up being.

I'll admit I had to get back to work and had already navigated away so I didn't copy it over exact. 2 mana sounds pretty good in all honesty, you bring up good examples of 2 mana white draw, and ten different unique tokens is a rare occurrence so the win con is likely only going to be hit in a very very dedicated deck, or in commander.

I recognise if this was a standard card, you could see play patterns of Turn 2: This. Turn 3: Another copy of this, 1 mana token, draw 2.

But again, tokens by themselves are often 1/1s and traditional token wins are with a lot of them being buffed, which this doesn't lend itself to so I think it's fine.

More likely you just get this down early and it draws a few cards while you execute a midrange/control gameplay and eventually it may become a backdoor win condition threat.

My limited environment will likely enjoy this card too. Repose (basically embalm) will be dropping a lot of unique tokens onto the board.

The flavor is also a huge win for my world, where very little is permanent, stories hold a special quality.
