Whenever a creature equipped with Shinobi Steel Whip deals damage to an opponent, return that creature to it’s owner’s hand.
This card has been problematic. Common equipment that gives more than +1/+1 is tough to gauge at common, and probably shouldn't be done, since it can control games too easily. Add to that the fact that this card's 'drawback' sometimes is anything but.
I think I had this at +3/+2 and and originally, but that proved too strong. I can't remember if this compromise was good enough. While I've got problems with this card's power level, other players didn't seem to care. Some players enjoyed abusing it, and some didn't realize how good it really was. I suppose the only way to figure out if it was as good as I think it is is through rigorous testing.
