I like this mechanic more than what the reminder text of "invoke God" implies (compare Clergy's Blessing ).
It helps with the parasitism if there is an alternative way to "invoke" by playing the appropriate type of card. And since God is a creature type there is nothing stopping you from triggering that one when "you play a God card" as well.
You just want a card with wording "Whenever you play god..." don't you?
This is particularly confusing because it's not landfall+. I know that Horn of Greed effects trip people up
The reminder text is a bit silly... Let me explain.
My idea yesterday was that I was going to make a legendary god creature named Tyrs, and have it start in the command zone.
It was going to have an effect that made this archetype as playable as the others are... something that made it less parasitic.
But, I forgot how Magic works for a moment, because that means you would need that mythic rare card for an entire deck archetype to function...
So, I'll probably have to think of a way to make it more uniform with the other cards...
I still might make a mythic tyrs, though... since I planned to do the same with Grozzokoth, when I designed the mechanic.
