Random Generator gave me Sailmonger and Strength of Night. The Random Generator has been very nice to me as of late. This one required little thinking to get the obvious cool effect... the only important details are format, creature types and the numbers...
Although, looking back, I'm not sure if it would be clear to the opponent that he is pumping his own dudes and not the controller of the Monger. Maybe I should just switch this to "all creatures" and "all elves"?
Gosh, I certainly read it as "other players can pump my guys? I guess that'd only be for team play then". How about "Creatures target player controls get +1/+1"?
That would probably do nicely, and feeds into multiplayer a bit better. Changing over.
First, it should probably be "Elf creatures..." Second, what if the elf ability was cheaper but cost green mana (like boosts zombies)?
Ick. Yes it should be "Elf creatures" but that certainly doesn't make me happy. What would be so terrible about giving Elf enchantments +1/+1? The Wizards rules and templating team should fix their rulebook so that this doesn't matter, and thus remove an unnecessary word from aproximately 100 cards...
You know, if I happened to have some elves and I didn't have access to green mana (either with current cards, like Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers or Scarblade Elite, or with a hypothetical future sets where Elves were commonly seen in red) I'd probably be pretty pissed when my opponent played this card, if it required green mana to activate. If it was just your own stuff, I'd be right behind you... but blue players who have a bunch of changelings on the table should get the ability as well.
