Random Generator gave me Untamed Wilds and Mountain. Mountain color shifts the Wilds to Red. Hmm... tricky. This card seems a little extreme, and is probably not common, but it does an Untamed Wilds trick in a non-Wilds color, so I'll take it. At first glance, it seems bad for you. But the number of stunts you can pull off (Wildfire, Fledgling Dragon, as well as acting like a Mana Severance) might put this card in the 'too good' category.
Wow. Funky. Seething Song as awesome mana-stripping.
Rachael would like to say simply: Landfall!
Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle probably loves this.
Heh, yeah. This is probably too good, for reasons that would befuddle new players. Maybe I should just drop this to and 3 Mountains...
Wow, that's a really good twist on red's fast mana. Simple, but useful for all sorts of things. Lamentably, the smaller version is probably safer; I hear Valakut is banned in modern, but I suspect something would be abusive with the larger version, and there's hopefully still a lot of interesting interactions with a cheaper version.
The ideal play for valakut is probably something like:
Turn 1: Valakut Turn 2: Mountain. (spirit guide, chancellor of the tangle, etc, else wait till turn 3.) Untamed cliffs for 15 damage, lava axe for 5 damage.
I don't know how likely it is, and probably it's valakut's fault not untamed cliff's fault, but it's unfortunate :)
