This treads on the toes of the sandwurms which are likely to have an "erupt and destroy target artifact" wurm at uncommon. But I decided most of the common wurms are interesting enough with little or no ETB.
And I like the flavour, even though it's almost the same as several existing red cards.
Ranchers ride griffins. Hopefully this will be clear from the art...
Only common sac-terrain. I'll see how that feels and either make at least one more, or remove this to uncommon.
Better name? I want a flavour of "attack from behind", but that sounds like "attack the position" (ie. the player) not "attack the infrastructure" or "attack the creatures"
I wanted a "swallow whole" vibe. Maybe "Nineveh wurm" would be a better name, but would anyone get the Jonah reference?
A green card-draw like Beast Hunt but with a slightly different flavour. Not sure about the strength, wizards haven't done much with this mechanic at common, maybe two cards is too good.
A little complicated, I'd rather have it redirect two and not draw a card, but the name is too awesome a fit not to use.
Gunslinger->Deputy
Suggestions?
I wanted an "expensive but thorough" removal spell. I'm not sure if this should have been the more elegant "that dealt damage", but those are just depressing, so I went for the reasonably flavourful "attacked or dealt damage". Hopefully that's not too confusing.
May be too similar to divine verdict.
The ability to hit non-creatures will come up rarely, but it seems a natural bonus to be able to answer them when they do (including one or two terrains).
I went through several synonyms of "vendetta" and "vengeance" before deciding I could spend a one-word name on it :)
Not sure of the exact abilities, I like the idea of this costing W, giving a small bonus, and a partial protection.
I'm worried I've too many activated protection/hexproof/other abilities: it's a good idea, but complicates the board if there's a lot.
It could instead be an instant that grants protection from a colour of your choice, but the flavour of an enchantment is better.
Or any other on-theme green effect.
