Affinity makes its return. This coreset will have a bigger focus on monocolor decks and identities for each color (rather than color pair), so the primary way Affinity will be used at common and uncommon will be Affinity for X color creature.

At higher rarities, you'll see one-off designs that favor certain types of permanents of a certain state. For example, tapped artifacts, attacking creatures, or enchantments/basic lands. These designs will serve to reinforce to new players on what each color likes to care about - for example, a red card with Affinity for Attacking Creatures, a white card with Affinity for Enchantments, etc.




In card text or details pages, write the mechanic's code name (playtest name) between square brackets, like "[Crittercast]", "[Bushido 1]" or "[Delay 4 {2}{R}{R}]". It will be expanded to the mechanic's name plus reminder text, such as "Suspend 4 – {2}{r}{r}. (Rather than cast this spell from your hand,...)"
To expand a mechanic's name but not its reminder text, include parentheses at the end of the square brackets: "[Crittercast()]", "[Delay 9 {R}()]".
