The 'wish' mechanic doesn't inspire me. Without the hacks to know what the top card of your library is, I think the guess most of the time will be 'land'.
There's a custom set or two running with this mechanic. I know it's djinn flavored, but I would think that as a plus rather than a negative. Also, Aladdin?
I mean, using that name for your kind of a mechanic would a huge loss IMO when this could exist instead.
That's a great mechanic as well. Definitely will keep that in mind if I ever come back to it, but the downside with that mechanic is that there's no way to build around the mechanic other than including 1-3 good cards with Wish in your deck and just drafting around everything else - it doesn't really add any archetypes to drafting. It's just kicker for spells. I might do something like
>...make a wish. If you do, [EFFECT] (Get a wish counter. If you have more than three wish counters, you lose the game.)
That way you could play around wish getting more wishes by removing counters from yourself in and maybe. Or you could Rules Lawyer yourself to avoid the game loss state-based effect in Un-constructed...
I'd also avoid sorcery/instant spells with wish and put them on tap abilities or ETB effects, so you don't run into the issue of making strictly-better spells without a tradeoff.
I like the flavor, but it seems a bit tricky to make into an actual mechanic since the conditions for the wish would all be different. "When creature gains X keyword" or "When you reach X threshold in hand/graveyard/library" or "When a creature is destroyed/exiled/returned to hand/etc" are all fine thresholds, but there won't really be a way to build around any of them unless multiple cards share the same/similar wish conditions.
