Creature
An avalanche of gnashing teeth, bone hooks, and worm coils roils forward in a wave of sundering parts. At the forefront of this thrashing, tentacular body yawns a howling pit of a mouth, ringed with a spiral of churning teeth and three massive, spiked mandibles.
 C
Creature – Golem
 C
Creature – Spirit
The thing in the corner of the attic resembles an emaciated child. It is a gray, forgotten remnant with cobwebs and dust covering the leering, fox skull that serves as its head. In tiny, claw-like hands it grasps a stuffed child’s toy—a ratty dolly with pins in its eyes. Worse are the voices, the calling whispers that haunt the air, filling it with nursery rhymes, sobbing, and laughing at the same time, as if the air around the creature were alive with lost invisible children.

Legendary Creature – Goblin
Big Gugmut is an unusually muscular and tall goblin from Mosswood who, it is said, had a hobgoblin for a mother and a wild boar for a father.

 C
Creature – Spider
A spider the size of a man crawls silently from the depths of its funnel-shaped web.

 C
Creature – Frog
Although sitting on its haunches, this gray-green humanoid is still almost four feet tall. Two large, bulbous eyes sit on either side of its toad-like head, above a wide maw that holds a pair of sharp ridges instead of teeth. Countless tough warts cover its rubbery skin all the way down to its webbed hands and feet. The creature wears simple armor constructed from reptilian hide and turtle shells, and wields an immense spiked club.
 C
Legendary Creature – Goblin
And then there’s Bruthazmus, an infamous bugbear ranger who lives in northern Nettlewood and often visits the five tribes to trade things he’s stolen from caravans for alcohol, news, or magic arrows.
 C

 C
Creature
A sleek aquatic hunter that looks some- thing like a seal with fins and a mouth full of several rows of sharklike teeth, the bunyip has learned that food often falls down from the hole above, especially when it roars.
 C
Creature – Zombie Bird
A swarm of rotting ravens takes awkward flight. Their lifeless eyes staring, their mangy wings rotting, the creatures open their beaks to call but make no sound. Bits of feather and flesh swarm around them, buzzing like flies.
 C

 C
Creature – Goblin
Gains flash when opponents' creatures are all tapped?
 C
Creature – Spider
This gigantic spider-thing is covered in jagged red-and-black chitin. Many-legged and alien, the creature’s waving tendrils and serrated pedipalps twitch hungrily beneath a cluster of unblinking black eyes. Hooked claws at the ends of its many-jointed legs pierce the earth with every step.
 C
Creature
Whatever terror of gigantic legs and venom-dripping fangs this arachnid horror once was could have been no more appalling than the undead remnant it has become. The house-sized creature’s wasted exoskeleton cracks and splits as it skitters forward with unnatural speed, and from the web of rotted gashes crisscrossing its bulbous body pour swarms of fat, poison-bloated spiders.
 C
Creature
At first glance, this resembles a man dressed in a tattered leather robe, his head obscured by a dirty silk turban and his lower face swathed in a scarf. Yet closer inspection reveals odd bumps beneath the turban, something strange about how the scarf wiggles and writhes, and an awkward stance and way of moving that hints at limbs not wholly human under those weirdly twitching robes.

Beating its powerful wings, this massive multicolored bird circles purposefully. Its eyes are pits of greenish flame and its radiant feathers cause it to soar in stark relief against the comparably dull sky.

Legendary Creature – Demon

 C
Creature
 C
Creature
This is a thing of skin and dislocation and horror. A featureless humanoid shape with hairless, scaly flesh like a dark crimson snake, its long stretching fingers twitch and writhe. Its form is horrifically human, and yet at the same time frightfully pliant, evident when its boneless arms stretch out unnaturally, grasping what should be out of reach.
 C
Legendary Creature
 C
Creature
More than ten feet tall, this lumbering humanoid fiend looks to have been born of living ore and sculpted pig iron. A massive maw splits its prodigious belly and through the sockets of its eyes, flared nostrils, and both mouths flickers an angry glow, as if a furnace raged within the brute’s bowels. The impression is cemented as its jagged belly maw belches forth a blast of cinders and sparks.

This humanoid creature has long, sharp teeth, and its pallid flesh is stretched tightly over its starved frame.

 C
Creature – Lizard
An oversized lizard the size of a horse scans the area, its bulging eyes darting this way and that, completely indepen- dent of one another. Every few moments a long pink tongue snaps from its wide mouth, either to snatch up some unseen insect or moisten an eye.
 C
Creature
 C
Creature
 C
Creature – Goblin
 C
Creature – Demon Hound
This mangy dog’s face has the flat nose, beady eyes, and protruding teeth of a rat grown grotesquely large. Tiny clawed forelimbs and a long, hairless pink tail add to its verminous appearance, and the smell of sun-baked sewage practically steams off its patchy fur.
 C

 C
Creature – Goblin
 C
Creature – Demon Snake
Blank white eyes, broad torn ears, and a wide maw filled with jagged yellow teeth and oversized fangs sway atop the body of this serpent. Combining the worst features of a rabid maniac and an oversized snake, scales that look more greasy than slick form a powerful, black, and limbless trunk. At the top, from its gray, lipless goblin head, flicks a long, thin, forked tongue.

Creature
This massive beast is a beautiful giantess from the waist up and a vicious hunting cat from the waist down. Somehow, the look of abject cruelty in her eyes is more unsettling than the feral claws of her lower half.
 C
Creature
 C
Creature – Hound
All the evil in the universe is seemingly concentrated into this creature’s lean and hungry body. Many-jointed limbs extend from its gaunt, quadrupedal form, each ending in numerous twitching, clawed digits. From between the pallid flesh of its grasping forelimbs protrudes an alien face warped in a perpetual scream, a starved- looking visage where wide, depthless black eyes yawn above a fleshless, shuddering maw. A sharply pointed tongue projects from between its shattered teeth, quivering perversely.
 C
Creature
This creature’s appearance is accompanied by the sound of retching and wet, flapping flesh. A thing of corpulent terror, it drags its swollen bulk spastically—a body composed of a sack-like mass of stitched flesh swollen almost to bursting. The iron staples that hold it together strain as if ready to burst asunder. The giant creature’s maw is vast, with a huge, lolling tongue writhing between rows of broken teeth. Its head and torso are a travesty of a humanoid atop a twisted leonine body that is little more than a pulpy mass of shattered limbs and sinew under its monstrously obese upper body. It drags itself along the ground with two clawing forepaws— straining limbs that seemingly struggle to free themselves from beneath the thing’s horrid girth.

Legendary Creature – Goblin
Koruvus was a champion of the Seven Tooth tribe, who was as well known for his short temper as he was for his prized possession—a magic longsword sized for a human that the goblin stubbornly kept as his own (despite the fact that it was too large for him to properly wield). Koruvus vanished several months ago after he supposedly discovered a “secret hideout” in a cave along the cliffs, but the Seven Tooth goblins remain convinced that he’s out there still, a ghost or worse, waiting to murder any goblin who tries to discover his hideout.

 C
Creature
This foul creature is a disgusting cross between a humanoid and a condor. Almost harpy-like in appearance, it has powerful avian legs ending in wicked talons, and a torso and upper body resembling that of a human, though covered in patches of filthy, blood-crusted hair and feathers. Great feathered wings extend from its shoulders, and a beaked, vulture-like head bobs at the end of a crooked neck.

Creature – Giant
Half-hidden by rotting vegetation and moldering wood towers a hulking brute, a savage giant the color of stagnant swamp water. Animal bones, filthy skins, and crude wooden fetishes barely cover its brutish frame, and two piercing white eyes stare hungrily from beneath a sloped brow.

Legendary Creature – Giant
 C
Creature
A monstrous, undulating tangle of barbed tentacles explodes from the water. Its form spurns definable anatomy, a horror of prehistory atop a writhing mass of rubbery tentacles—some crowned with glaring infernal eyes. Its only recognizable feature is the black reptilian head rising above the morass of tentacles, a maw of flesh-sheering teeth gaping wide before two piercing eyes, smoldering with alien intelligence.

Fleshy and deformed, this man-like cretin hulks far larger and burlier than others of his race. Chunky flesh and overlarge muscles deform his crooked frame, and a dull-witted eagerness shines 8 through jaundiced eyes.

Legendary Creature
 C
Creature – Dragon

 C
Creature
Snarling and spitting, this tiny figure looks like a hateful old man, his face wrinkled like month-old fruit. The bent, three-foot-tall cretin wields a rusted scythe nearly double his size in his gnarled hands, andwearsapairofoverlylargespikedironboots.Uponhisgrizzled head sits a bent hat, gruesomely stained bright crimson.
 C
Creature
There is malevolence in the hate-filled eyes of this dead thing. Once a human, yet stripped of pity and remorse along with its life, its body is wasted, staggering in a spastic lope across the ground, as though only its evil intent keeps it walking upright.
 C
Legendary Creature – Goblin
Ripnugget is the current leader of the Thistletop goblins and controls what the five tribes agree is the best lair.

Creature – Giant
This towering muscular giant’s skin is nearly black in color, as if made from pitted iron and then etched with countless complex runes. As the creature moves, the runes flash and ripple, glowing from the strange internal fires that burn within it. The giant wears ornate armor with a grimacing full helm, and wields an immense sword that looks big enough to bisect a house.

 C
Creature
Numerous severe-looking runes spark and flicker upon the body of this towering giant, seemingly seared into the creature’s skin. Although its eyes look dull, its muscles bulge grotesquely, as if barely contained by a thin layer of flesh, and it moves unnaturally fast for a creature of such ponderous size. A horrid expression—either rage or pain—contorts the giant’s features as it speeds forward.

Legendary Creature – Elf
Shalelu Andosana isn’t quite a bounty hunter, a survivalist, or a mercenary, but a mix of all three.
 C
Creature
A giant of gnashing, predatory fangs and rending limbs crashes forth. Vaguely humanoid, the thing lopes upon massive wolf legs ending in talons the size of short swords. From a chest of corded muscles sprout patches of wiry hair, long arms ending in chitin-covered claws, and the massive, scythe-like forelimbs of some monstrous praying mantis. Behind lashes a prehensile tail bristling with sharp barbs, and atop its bestial trunk thrashes a terrible head, half sharp-toothed canine, half venom-bloated arachnid. Drool flies from its mandible-flanked maw beneath rows of unblinking, insectile eyes.
 C
Creature
This creature is almost too bright to gaze upon, its emaciated body sheathed in writhing flames of pure light and supporting a prehensile tail, clawed hands, and a twisted skull projecting beams of fire from its eyes and mouth.
 C
Creature – Lizard
 C
Creature
 C
Creature – Demon Hound
A horribly deformed humanoid, hairless and emaciated, lurches out of the shadows. Its unnaturally long arms end in three-fingered talons, and its legs bend like those of a dog. A writhing network of bulging veins form dark blue patterns across its pallid skin. But worst of all is its face—its nose is little more than a pair of slits, and its eyes are bulging and red. The lower jaw splits in half at the chin into two wretched arms that end in tiny three-fingered hands to either side an open gullet with a lolling tongue.
 C
Creature
 C
Creature
A fearsome chittering heralds the approach of this morbid monstrosity. A giant headless scorpion-like thing of blackened bone and chitin rounds the corner ahead, scuttling along the wall as its two pincers snap ominously. A long grisly tail composed of dozens of chattering skulls arches up over its back. Some of the skulls are ancient and bleached white, while others are recent trophies still shrouded in rotting cheeks, their jellied eyes rolling madly in their sockets. A curved bony tip protrudes from the last skull of its tail, its deadly point smeared with poison.
 C
Creature
The smell of wood smoke bears the taint of burning flesh. A branch in the campfire sputters and hisses. From within the fire’s embers a smoldering skull glares out, its eyes wells of cold darkness. Tendrils of smoke dance around and through it like tongues or writhing snakes.

Creature – Giant
Stark white scars and tribal patterns tattoo the dusky skin of this towering brute. Skulls, stone fetishes, and crude but deadly wooden weapons mark the nearly twenty-foot-tall savage as a deadly warrior.
 C
Creature
The monster looks something like a leathery, eyeless squid with a squat body the size of a rain barrel. Its lower body splits into a tangle of tentacles the creature uses to slowly move on, while two longer tentacles, one thick and muscular and the other lithe and tipped with a bone stinger, emerge from either side.

Burn the skin and mash the head,

 C

"Chase the baby, catch the pup.
Bonk the head to shut it up.
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed,
We be goblins! You be food!"
 C
Legendary Creature – Demon
An unnatural amalgam of loathsome animal parts, this mangy beast skulks forward—walking perversely upright—on the rear legs of a powerful horse. Its body and head grossly equine, the torn wings of some giant bat sprout from the thing’s pox-spotted hide. Calloused, milky eyes glare balefully from a nearly skeletal head as a rasping hiss escapes a muzzle filled with broken yellow wolf teeth.
 C
Creature
 C
Creature
An emaciated, almost skeletal humanoid thing ambles forward. The movement of its bones is clearly visible beneath its moldy green skin, its ribs pushing taut against thin flesh as if they might burst free at any second. The thing’s long spindly arms end in bony protrusions more than a foot long, which scrape against the ground as it comes. Upon its malformed blister of a head gapes an oversized mouth, which looks more like a yawning, infected wound set with broken, pointed teeth.
 C
Legendary Creature – Elf

Creature
This tall, emaciated creature has pale skin stretched taut over bones that seem to push outward and threaten to split the flesh. Its head resembles that of a monstrous elk, but with deeply inset eyes gleaming with a feral, hungry light, and tattered, bloody lips that part to reveal jagged broken teeth. Humanoid in basic shape, the creature’s legs end not in feet but in blackened, charred stumps.

 C
Creature
The specter of a horrif ying crone hovers several feet off the ground, her semitransparent body afire with otherworldly green flames. Her wild hair, tatters of ghostly clothing, and aura of eerie fire violently whip and waver, as if caught in some soundless hurricane.
 C
Creature
In reward, Lamashtu sent her three of her minions as a reward, lean creatures that look like jackals with smoking red eyes and black fangs—yeth hounds.
 C
Creature
Double the size of a man at its shoulder, this creature looks like a gigantic, starving jackal, but from its back beat the tattered black wings of a monstrous bat. A canine head sprouts from where it would be natural for one to rest, but behind, where the creature’s tail should begin, instead sways the sleek, strong coils of a viper, ending in a fanged head that arcs over the monster’s back. Twin trails of thin smoke, like those from dying embers, rise from where the thing’s jackal eyes should be, roiling up from depthless hollows gaping in the horror’s snarling visage.

Here crouches a twelve-foot-long creature with the body of a lion, a scorpion’s tail fitted with dozens of razor barbs, huge bat-like wings, and a deformed humanoid face. The stuffed beast’s poorly maintained fur has fallen away in places, allowing the sawdust filling it to sift out into tiny mounds on the platform below.

The blade of this brutal-looking falchion is serrated, forming fangs for the stylized etching of a jackal’s profile on the shimmering metal. These weapons are fashioned in honor of Lamashtu and are favored by her most powerful cultists as weapons not only for battle, but for sacrifice.

Goblins excel at riding animals, but they don’t quite get horses. In fact, their hatred of all things horse is matched only by their fear of horses, who tend to step on goblins who get too close.
