Heh. Well, I like the way the abilities tell a story. It's unfortunate that you'd pretty much only ever want to activate +3, then -2 once or twice, then -6; not much flexibility in the order there. But the flavour is great as well, so this is a pretty good design.
Its a top-down design of a Gorgon planeswalker now. May trade colors with Quoll Gollag
Yeah this ultimate is rather weak. Alex's suggestion is pretty good
I'm pronouncing this in my head as "Sabeenuh, the Spider Queenuh" :)
I have a Spider deck. Arachnus Spinner is a lot better than the ultimate here. (OTOH, the +1 is rather terrifying: make two 1/2 counters and gain loyalty while doing so?)
I suggest the ultimate should be more directly game-winning. Something like, say:
> You get an emblem with "Tap an untapped Spider you control: That creature deals damage equal to its power to target player and to each creature with flying he or she controls."
Well, it would be good if you had a spider deck. Even then, though, the ability is useless against decks with no flying creatures in them. I don't know if there's any such thing as a 'Silver Bullet' Planeswalker, and I could guess why...
The ultimate seems underwhelming.
Well the idea is to have something that interacts with emblems in one of the sets. There will be at least one card that can remove them and I'm thinking about a few cards that either rewrite or add on to what they do.
This guy is kind of sad when everything is done. He's a bit more like "Rodrick, the Guy Who Won't Get Out of my Basement".
I'd also like to point out that, since there is no way to get rid of emblems, you may be slated for a long game. I would hope that most people would concede when they see that they can't attack, but, as I noted on Link's article, I wouldn't. Even if I had no way to win, I need to keep playing.
As I was just discussing with jmgariepy over on Eye of Ih Zalyra, I enjoy lockdown effects and mean control effects. However, I have to wonder how you expect this guy to help win games.
