A multiverse exercise for fun and nonprofit. Edit a card someone else created: fill in the blanks! Or: create a card with 2 to 4 blanks in it!

Skeleton

Suggestions / "Rules"

  1. This exercise is supposed to be fun first, but also is a chance to flex designer muscles. Let's try to create playable cards that don't use a ton of text without good reason, etc.

  2. Cards that are a smidge "silly" due to using squirrel tokens or having a pun in the name are perfectly cool, just, again try to ensure it mechanically functions with and could conceivably be printed in a WotC sets! (even if it might require an alternate-universe WotC with slightly different philosophical leanings)

  3. Create cards where some of the rules text is filled in, but not all.

  4. Finish other people's cards by editing the card, filling in the blanks, and leave a comment that ends with "blanks filled in!" so that people know it's done.

  5. "Rules" are absolutely not set in stone, and subject to change if people come up with better ideas.

On Heroic Blades Returned:

Ouch. I'd think the existence of this card would warp the environment so that no one else played any equipment for you to steal, though.

On Heroic Blades Returned:

Blanks filled!

On Autumn Grievance:

Did you forget to say non-land permanent.

On Llanowar Occultist:

Blanks filled in!

On Augur of Vision:

I don't think a skeleton is the way to go with a game like this; but whatever works best for you; I guess.

I'm... poor at wording, to be kind to myself. But I also rather like that this could be used if you find a way to draw a card in opponents turns.

On Augur of Vision:

Oh and feel free to make cards with (blanks) in them as well and I'll fill one or two in later!

On Augur of Vision:

Interesting idea to fork it to a new card instead of editing the original!

Is "at the beginning of your upkeep" not wording they use anymore now?

I'm very sleepy so I'll reply more later. I apologize that the set skeleton isn't complete, it's very tedious and I've never used one before but thanks for playing FitB!

On Augur of Vision:

Nice. Compare Think Tank and Thassa, God of the Sea (also Monastery Siege).

Interesting slight-dampener on the opponent casting lots of spells.

On (Blank) of Vision:
On Augur of Vision:

See (Blank) of Vision.

Well, I was tempted to have "At the beginning of time"

So when's the best time to scry? Just before you draw, when you'd be fiddling with your library anyway.

I didn't want something overpowered; scry 1 or 2 each turn feels about right for this casting cost and rarity (and is still pretty goshdarn good). So yoink the werewolf mechanic; kinda.

Wording officially from blank filling: At the beginning of your turn, scry X, where X is the number of spells an opponent cast since your last turn.

Which is... actually shorter. Huh.
