Similar to Springleaf Drum though does not fix mana nor require tapping after the first time. After paying the cost it's a 1-cmc mana rock which does sound rather dangerous...

This is as much a 1-cmc spell as Ephemeral Shields is.

This is Mind Stone without boardcycling and instead "convoke, except you have to use convoke for exactly one mana and thus can neither cast this without a creature already on the battlefield nor pay the whole cost with creatures if you have tokens to spare."

Might still be dangerous but probably only if you put a {0} cost creature into the same set. And it seems like you could simply not do that.
