Wow. That's a strong effect, but I like that it shuts off if you have to hold it back to block. Lifelink is an interesting effect to only get on attacking, though; it means that you almost don't mind not getting to block with the creature, because you're gaining a whole bunch of life to offset the return swing that this creature can't block.
Gota balance strong effects, I'm so sick of modern equipment - aka Batterskull who are just to overwhelmingly strong in that regard.

The alternate attachment ability is too wordy and clutters the design.
Also the Throne of Bone text is cluttering.
Your first priority should be to cut unnecessary fat on this card.
Could this be tribal ("Whenever a Vampire creature ETB under your control, you may attach ~ to that creature.")?
Simplified card - vampire tribal links. Added alternative equip cost (3 life and discard) - I'm starting to feel like Madness might be a good subtheme in this set. Or maybe a bit of Threashold or Delerium style of ability?
