Just a reminder that the set has two Erons in it now.

Still have one more slot to fill....

red rare, formerly a pos Enron card.

Ok...how does this look (I was going for a 'good' 2 drop for red, since every other color has good omnipresent 2-drops.)

Spitting Earth attached to a 2/1 body in rare? Yeah, that sounds fair. Oh, hold it... Haste? It's kind of pushing it, but maybe. It certainly reads a lot better than Flametongue Kavu...

A 2/1 with haste that can sometimes kill a creature doesn't seem OP to me. It's certainly much better than Spitting Earth, but that was common and this is rare.

How does it compare to things like Snapcaster, Goyf, Stone Forge? Hopefully, not as "good" but still "good enough" to be playable for sure?

It's certainly a tournament level two-drop, if that's what you were after.

nice a 2 drop that kills itself

@Alex Is it to good?

@amaseum It can kill itself...or other things...depends on what your opponent plays, I guess. Maybe it needs the "may" maybe it doesn't.

It's... rather hard to say what would count as "too good" by modern design standards. I'd say a number of recently printed creatures are "too good". So I can't really tell.

I do like the way that its ability has potential to be a drawback though. That helps balance it a bit.

Well, then I can be more or less happy as is. :D

time to cull the rest of this shitastic set though and give it a minor bump here and there.

The other idea I have for this card is somewhat more "deck inclusion" limiting, but interesting:

"When ~ enters the battlefield you may target an instant or sorcery card that deals damage in any player's graveyard. If you do, you may cast that card as though it had Flashback equal to it's mana cost."

or something like that?

not as omnipowerful as Snapcaster, but a bit less expensive to get a playset (or two) of :D

Kill target creature and Shock target opponent (or at least force them to block)

Scary good.

to scary?

To be honest? A slightly less powerful Snapcaster is more powerful than Snapcaster. That's because you just let players double up, and pack 8x Snapcasters. That doesn't seem necessary.

Well, it doesn't (wouldn't) have Flash....and players can already do that more or less with Phantasmal Image if they really want to. (or just blinks...)

Doesn't really matter, though. Image and Blinks require having a Snapcaster in play. Red snapcaster would supply consistansy. Banking on Clone and Blink is putting all your eggs in one basket. There's no risk with running 8x Snaps (you know... besides graveyard hate, and the usual anti-control deck measures.)

So...

hmmm....

How about "When ~ enters the battlefield you may discard a card. If you do, put a red 2/1 Human Rogue token onto the battlefield, it has haste and "At the beginning of your end step, sacrifice this creature."

Hm. Turn a card in hand into a Spark Elemental. That's quite a fun idea. Though it might be simpler to just say "When ~ ETBs, discard a card and it deals 3 damage to target player."

was way to powerful dealing damage equal to mountains controled, changed to 1/2 mountains rounded down.

tempted to make the trigger interact with the top card/s of library instead somehow.
