Some versions had the backside returning to hand from triggers such as being targeted and "attacks and isn't blocked."

I'm not exactly sure what the backside should be doing other than that skulk feels flavorfully appropriate and it should prolly return to hand to depict returning to the palace as well as making it function properly with the front side.
