Forty-card cycle of two-color MDFC w/o partner. ;)

Are you just using the names, or is this intended to represent the Hermione from Harry Potter?

Only the names. I came up with playtest names based on either two characters played by the same actor or characters and their actors (because "You think they're the same person? Have you ever seen them together in the same room?" is a joke MDFCs really invite IMO), but the mechanics are not tied to that reference except tenuously (e. g. Hermione being a Wizard).

I wouldn't know why Hermione Granger would have artifact-related abilities or Emma Watson would sacrifice permanents to draw cards. :D

Why the use of "activate player" in the wording? I was really thrown off by that. Looking at its meaning, it seems to just mean "the player whose turn it is" which would be like 1000% more grokkable and already has sizable amount of precedent with cards like Obeka, Brute Chronologist. In this case "if it's not your turn" (ie. Force of Despair).

> "102.1. A player is one of the people in the game. The active player is the player whose turn it is. The other players are nonactive players."

Because I consistently forget that the official wording avoids the mention of "active player" apparently. I think, I had at least thrice this year pointed out to me that the official wording is different. It's just the wording I continuously fail at - mea culpa!
