In silver-bordered this could also actually trigger on food being eaten.

Part of design is to use the space available and make the calls. Your suggestion is akin to taking out part of a wall to fit a table partly into a room, when a smaller table is available.

Yeah, "~ is also [type]" is an extremely janky static ability. I would never want to see that unless it was conditional and mattered for the set for some reason.
