To me it feels strange that this is an Angel Faerie that doesn't fly... but I have no idea what the blue ability should be instead.
Nifty!
Also, this card made me start to wonder if cards like this could say "put a coloured ion counter on a creature you control". That way it's like populate: Eyes in the Skies and Coursers' Accord work fine on their own, but better if you've popped your Grove of the Guardian first. But it'd probably not be worth the complexity in this case. Thought I'd mention the idea anyway.
Seems a fine approach to a Relentless Rats. Possibly a bit too similar to the first one.
It occurred to me that the simplest way to evolve this mechanic into rare would be to do it in the most obvious way. Just some big overpowered fattties that can take advantage of either of the two ionic abilities. Okie Dokie.
Originally, this card had modular for cards with the same name... but that requires +1/+1 counters, and this set doesn't use those counters. Funny how I forgot that. Hopefully, counting up the number of exiled Preservers isn't broken... especially considering that you need 3 exiled copies for this card to start showing value.
Mostly, I've been costing these as CHHD = 4C...
Tossed the other 4 French Vanilla CHHD commons up. I'd add flavor, but these are some of the easiest to switch up cards, so I suppose I should wait to see what happens first. Man, Blue-Black is tough. If you don't want to use flying or islandwalk, swampwalk or forestwalk that is. Wizards has got to come up with an evergreen keyword mechanic that those two can share.
